‘I was trying to protect him’

The one-time girlfriend of a man accused of fatally shooting Miguel Munoz told jurors yesterday she misled police when first questioned about the killing.

“I had feelings for him. I didn’t want him to go to jail,” the 22-year-old woman testified. “I told (police) the truth but not the whole truth because I was still trying to protect him.”
