She’s out and about

Laurie Bell, the Alberta woman convicted in the killing of a Manitoba RCMP officer, has been granted overnight leave privileges from her halfway house.

Bell, 27, who was convicted of manslaughter and handed a seven-year sentence for the Dec. 21, 2001 shooting death of Const. Dennis Strongquill, was granted statutory release last March after serving two-thirds of her sentence.
