Officer had no choice but to shoot stabbing suspect

A Winnipeg police officer had no choice but to shoot a Sudanese refugee caught stabbing his roommate to death, an inquest heard yesterday.
Twenty-four-year-old Zunga Bashir was shot and killed Dec. 30, 2005 after police stormed into his St. James apartment and caught him repeatedly stabbing James Malish David on a living room couch.
