Jail ain’t the answer to the problem. I think boot camp would be. Jail is like club med for inmates basically. they live free get 3 squares a day and our tax money pays for it.
Now if you send a kid too boot camp there ain’t no excuse for them to not do anything because they aren’t getting away with anythign and if they try its a foot in the ass. You just keep them there for as long as its gonna take before they release them.

Jail could very well be the answer. The problem is that our prison system focuses soley on “rehabilitation” and has no focus on “punishment or deterrent”. But that is what years of federal Liberal influence will have on the judicial system.
Revamping of the prison system is needed. While I beleive options for inmates to better themselves should be available, they are still being punished for a crime.
Costs of housing inmates for longer terms and building more prisons could easily be subsidized by supervised day work.
Have low risk inmates clean ditches on the highway, paint city property, build playground structures, ect; all while being supervised. They could be earning wages as temp workers that would go towards paying for their incarceration costs. Who knows maybe an inmate will discover they have a talent and pick up a trade for when they are released. After serving their full sentance of course.
