One person is at 1000 calls to emergency personnel? Some of these people are costing us $250,000 each!!!!I’m sure they’ve all paid their fair share of taxes and….uh,yeah…Jesus Christ, wtf is wrong with this country? If it costs that much to look after IPDAs and other street people, many of whom have mental problems why not have them in long term facilities, institutions, whatever…Either way it is going to cost us $$$$.At least this way it won’t tie up an ambulance and a fire truck every night when “Johnny”(a regular on the scanner) gets lonely and calls 911.Or when emergency personnel are required when the same skid row drunks do a face plant on Main st.
If you think what I said is cruel, wait ’til Grandma has a stroke or little Suzie has an asthma attack and there is no ambulance available because they are all dealing with the dregs of humanity.
How many times have we driven down main st or any other major downtown street and scene this… and said to ourselves just let the bumb die already… lets do the math here… $3000.00 for a burial one time payment (paid for by the province) or 250.00 * 1000 calls = 250 000.00 for a ride to the detox centre or hospital… You can’t force treatment on them or resdential care so why bother… hope for a nice long cold spell to reduce the bumb population…
